A couple of our Hydrema 912E drill rigs ready for work with their new owner Wallis Drilling. A big thanks to Wallis Drilling for taking two of our Hydrema 912E cab chassis machines and turning them into an amazing custom designed exploration drill rig.
The MA60 is a rugged and agile air-core exploration drill rig – designed, manufactured and operated by Wallis Drilling. The MA60 is equipped with forestry-spec tyres, front blade, extensive underbody guarding and forestry protection to the drivers’ cab. This allows it to operate in heavily timbered, uncleared and hilly forestry terrain, with minimal environmental disturbance. A comprehensive acoustic enclosure reduces noise around the machine, whilst also excluding potentially flammable forest debris.
The 912E carrier was selected as it provided the key elements that Wallis was looking for – ground clearance, tough chassis and driveline (dump-truck origins), excellent visibility for the driver. With the support of ADT and Hydrema, the cab chassis was extensively modified, and the bespoke rig built onto the machine, resulting in an extremely well-integrated and fit-for-purpose package.
